Combating Cervical Cancer Through Vaccination in Ethiopia
The Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Girl Effect, and JSI have been working to expand HPV vaccination through school programs, community mobilization, and social media. In November, we helped vaccinate over 8,200 girls through a multi-age cohort campaign. Our efforts are aimed at reducing cervical cancer and empowering young girls in Ethiopia.
Toolkit Supports Increasing HPV Vaccine Uptake Among Adolescents
Increasing HPV vaccination of adolescents in the U.S. is a top priority, but only about 59 percent had been vaccinated as of 2021. The JSI-led Reproductive Health National Training Center created the HPV Vaccine Toolkit, which describes three approaches and includes resources for increasing vaccination among adolescent clients in family planning settings.
