Tool vs. approach: ANMs receive multiple forms/formats/records/registers. Often they have to enter same data multiple times increasing their fatigue and compromising the quality of data and service. Time and again Govt had requested the consultants and development partners to simplify recording and reporting so that they can devote more time for providing quality service. User friendly tool developed by actively involving experienced field staff and further field testing before bulk printing will perpetuate and propagate on its own. Tool itself is not everything. Timely approaching grass-root level workers by the superior officers matters the most in the sustenance and the outcome of a programme. India is conducting about 9 million Routine Immunization sessions annually. Programme managers of all levels expressed that supportive supervision is week. “A stitch in time saves nine”. A proper supportive supervision has significant impact. The attached True story is just one time example of 2 session sites of 2 HSCs. The 'true story' is shared with the district administrators and sharing with TechNet Community.
