Message from the Guest Editors (U. of Southampton, UK)

This Special Issue focuses on the role of geospatial analysis, artificial intelligence, and mathematical modelling in childhood vaccination strategies within lowand middle-income countries. It aims to showcase innovative research leveraging geospatial data, machine learning, and advanced statistical approaches to address persistent challenges in immunization systems.
Topics of interest include high-resolution mapping of vaccination coverage and zero-dose children, outbreak risk modelling, optimization of vaccination campaigns, integration of administrative and survey data, forecasting, and the use of novel data streams for planning and monitoring. By bringing together contributions from multiple disciplines, this Special Issue highlights how data-driven approaches can support more equitable, targeted, and effective vaccination strategies, ultimately contributing to disease control and elimination efforts in resource-constrained settings.
