Nine officials from Egypt’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) strengthened their technical skills in Cold Chain Equipment Management (CCEM) during a 10-day training at the EAC Regional Centre of Excellence for Vaccines, Immunization and Health Supply Chain Management in Kigali, Rwanda (3–15 May 2026), supported by UNICEF Egypt.

Through classroom sessions, hands-on demonstrations, and field visits, participants enhanced their expertise in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting WHO PQS equipment, solar refrigeration systems, and green cold chain technologies.

A visit to the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) EPI Central Vaccines Warehouse provided practical exposure to vaccine storage and logistics operations, highlighting the importance of regional collaboration and continuous capacity building to ensure vaccine safety in the region.
