Does anyone know of a suitable healthcare equipment management and maintenance systems, based on the inventory? I am aware of the current capabilities of mSupply. For comparison purposes, does anyone know of an alternative asset management system, that is suitable for the management of biomedical (hospital) equipment, including Cold Chain equipment? The software system should ideally cover the full range of asset lifecycle management functionality, including procurement, registration, depreciation, location tracking, repairs and maintenance, spare parts management, retirement, and disposal. The system should be networked, with the national database linked to sub-national biomedical management centres. Suggestions are most welcome!

The most comprehensive tool I've used is https://fiixsoftware.com

Training modules are available on YouTube.

I am interested in  undergoing training on the use of this equipment tools .  How can l participate in the training?

Thank you.

  1. The new tool, the web-based inventory gap analysis tool: is a real-time, dynamic, simple, tool for updating cold chain equipment inventory using web-based and mobile-based data collection platforms. It works both on computers, and Android or iOS (apple devices).
  2. Most data tools, are linked to equipment functionality, capacity

The areas of repairs and maintenance, spare parts management, retirement, and disposal: have to do with human effort but, most managers think the tool will give solutions to repair, and maintenance, no.

  1. procurement, registration, depreciation:

All WHO/UNICEF have procurement protocols if you put it on a tool,  it will have no value to the handles or end users at a low level and is a seasonal activity that requires management decisions.

I will suggest in my own opinion, that the workload will be too much on the database handler, and no professionalization e.g a database manager may not be able to handle spare parts due to names of the parts, use, and replacements when needed,

So, to ensure activities are well achieved we have to be mindful of the handlers' knowledge and educational background for tracking, repairs and maintenance, spare parts management, retirement, and disposal.

Suggestion, tools for  repairs and maintenance, spare parts management, retirement, and disposal should  be different for equipment  equipment management

Thank you
