GiveWell is looking to identify programs that increase the uptake of routine childhood immunizations by bringing vaccination services closer to communities through targeted outreach sessions or mobile vaccination. We think these programs have the potential to be highly cost-effective and scalable and we're interested in testing them in a variety of contexts. We're currently seeking expressions of interest for programs that would operate in select areas of DRC, Nigeria, or Somalia.

We’re circulating a Request for Information (RFI) to identify organizations that would be well-positioned to implement an outreach/mobile vaccination program in these geographies. Responses are due by March 27, 2026.

We're specifically seeking programs that:

  • Increase uptake of routine childhood immunizations (for children under 2)
  • Operate in select provinces/states of DRC, Nigeria, or Somalia. We will not be considering submissions for other geographies through this RFI.
    • Eligible provinces in DRC: Kasaï, Kwilu, Lomami, Sankuru
    • Eligible states in Nigeria: Sokoto and Zamfara
    • Eligible regions in Somalia: All
  • Both identify missed/underserved communities and facilitate the regular provision of vaccination services to reach those communities
  • Serve areas where at least 40,000 children are born each year. Grants coming out of this RFI would fund activities for 2-3 years.

More information on the eligiblity criteria, budget, and answers to frequently asked questions can be found in the RFI announcement. Responses should be submitted through this RFI response form

If you have any questions about this opportunity that are not covered in the FAQ section of the RFI announcement, please reach out to us via email at vacci[email protected]. We'd love to hear from you!
