The World Health Organization (WHO) has released an updated Position Paper on Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) vaccination, introducing new recommendations on dose-reduced schedules, including the 2-dose “1p+1” schedule (one primary dose plus one booster dose).

While the 1p+1 schedule is not yet included in current PCV product licenses, WHO notes that off-label use may be justified under specific national conditions and with expert recommendations — offering potential benefits in cost savings and reduction of injections.

This webinar will:

  • Present the updated WHO recommendations on PCV vaccination.
  • Discuss key considerations for countries exploring the adoption of the 1p+1 schedule.
  • Provide insights relevant to national immunization programme decisions.

Target audience:

  • WHO and UNICEF colleagues (regional and country levels)
  • National immunization programme managers
  • Immunization partners and technical agencies

Language:

The webinar will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French.

When:

Wednesday, November 19th, 1pm-2.30pm CET
