Dear colleagues,
Over the past several months, I have been independently developing VaxPlan, a GIS-powered microplanning platform designed to support national immunization programmes in planning and delivering vaccination services more effectively.
The motivation behind this work comes from a challenge that many of us have observed: despite significant investments in vaccines and health systems, planning at the last mile often remains fragmented, paper-based, and disconnected from spatial intelligence. As a result, zero-dose and under-immunized communities can remain invisible.
VaxPlan aims to address this by combining:
- Interactive GIS mapping of health facilities and communities
- Digital microplanning workflows
- Offline-first functionality for low-connectivity settings
- Settlement and catchment intelligence
- Session planning and outreach management
- Coverage and zero-dose analytics
- Integration pathways with existing systems such as DHIS2 and FHIR-based platforms
This is currently a personal initiative that I have been developing because I believe there is an opportunity to strengthen immunization planning through geospatial intelligence and digital tools.
I would greatly appreciate the support of this community in several ways:
- Testing the application and providing constructive feedback.
- Sharing ideas on features or workflows that could improve its usefulness.
- Connecting me with Ministries of Health, implementing partners, or organizations that may be interested in piloting such a solution.
- Collaborating if you have expertise in GIS, immunization, digital health, implementation science, or software development.
My objective is not simply to build another application but to create an open and practical tool that can help countries reach underserved populations and strengthen routine immunization programmes.
If you are interested in testing the platform, reviewing the concept, or discussing potential collaboration, I would be delighted to connect.
Thank you, and I look forward to your feedback.
