The Zero-Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH), led by JSI and funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, is pleased to share its latest peer-reviewed publication in Vaccines. The study, conducted by the Nigeria Country Learning Hub, piloted a decentralized immunization monitoring (DIM) approach in Kumbotso LGA, Kano State, to identify and address immunization gaps. Findings reveal substantial rates of delayed vaccination and zero-dose prevalence, with barriers linked to caregiver education, rural residence, and negative vaccine perceptions. These insights highlight the importance of decentralized monitoring and community engagement to strengthen routine immunization programming and reach zero-dose children.
As the ZDLH enters its final months of implementation, this milestone underscores our continued commitment to identifying and sharing best practices for reaching zero-dose and under-immunized children. We invite you to read the full article and share it with your networks to help amplify this important work.
