Multisectoral zero-dose strategies to improve routine immunization and other child outcomes
The Multisectoral zero-dose strategies to improve routine immunization and other child outcomes is an operational guidance that provides practical strategies and implementation tools for program managers and frontline workers implementing child survival interventions centered around the zero-dose child. It guides cross-sectoral coordination and engagement throughout the programme cycle, with specific application for priority contexts and inclusion of cross-cutting themes. It is presented in both detailed and summary formats in English. The zero-dose (ZD) child, who is often multiply deprived, is one who did not receive any vaccines and is measured programmatically as non-receipt of the first dose of DPT-containing vaccine (DPT-1). From 2019 to date, we have a global estimate of 14 to 19 million children annually. To better address this challenge, addressing the vaccine needs and other deprivations together could be a game changer in holistically addressing the child's needs. We are pleased to announce the finalization of our resources, which could help us better leverage partner multisectoral abilities. Watch out for the dissemination webinar coming soon!
