The cost-effectiveness of implementing an effective continuous temperature monitoring system in the vaccine supply chain - Executive summary
This study uses a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) in the vaccine supply chain in 2 countries to determine whether the implementation of a continuous monitoring system of temperature is beneficial to ensure vaccine quality; the continuous temperature monitoring system refers to the EVM assessments recommendations consisting in the implementation of equipment and good practice in the vaccine supply chain including specifically:
• Installation of appropriate monitoring equipment at each level and each segment of the supply chain,
• Training in the use of such equipment
• Implementation of appropriate standard operating procedures,
• Data management / analysis and effective feedback.
