WHO Immunization Devices prequalification (WHO IMD-PQS) is delighted to announce the opening of the NEW WHO e-Prequalification System (ePQS) for immunization device prequalification and a NEW website and catalogue of prequalified products for WHO Immunization Devices. WHO ePQS is an online portal for WHO-prequalification, laboratory accreditation and associated procedures. The WHO ePQS opening announcement can be viewed here.
The WHO ePQS platform will optimize efficiency of the immunization device prequalification process and data management for WHO and applicants. It will allow users to have oversight of their products, submitted applications and any associated inspections, and to track the progress of their applications. Via the portal, applicants are guided by an "application wizard" interface to create and submit applications for WHO prequalification. The new IMD-PQS website provides a one-stop-shop for comprehensive tools and guidance about immunization devices prequalification, evaluation and testing, procurement and use.
The two platforms function in synergy to deliver end-to-end support to all WHO Immunization Devices stakeholders, and will support the IMD-PQS mission to ensure the availability and quality of prequalified products to safeguard vaccines and immunization devices.
ePQS REGISTRATION & ACCESS:
Registration is currently available for new product or accreditation applications only, and will be rolled out over 2025/6 to all remaining prequalification holders. For manufacturers and resellers wishing to submit a new product application, please consult the General Registration Instructions[1], and submit the Registration Form[2] as directed. WHO IMD-PQS also provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for all ePQS user processes in the dedicated IMD ePQS Learning Materials[3]. Additional one-on-one support will also be provided to immunization devices ePQS users.
VALIDATION OF THE NEW WHO IMD-PQS PRODUCT CATALOGUE:
IMD-PQS requests ALL Immunization device prequalification holders and accredited laboratories to verify the correctness and completeness of product data sheets using the appropriate Product Data Sheet Update[4] form or Laboratory Data Sheet Update[5] form, returning them completed to the WHO IMD-PQS Secretariat. This exercise will validate product data in ePQS.

As you can see, you can filter the products by category, manufacturer, climate zone, freeze protection rating, etc. You can also download the entire catalogue of products in the category, either as PDF or JSON files. Really useful!
A few follow up questions for the PQS team:
- Does the new site release mean that the old site is now out of date and will be discontinued shortly? If not, where the sites are different, which should we use as the authoritative resource?
- Will the new site be available in other languages?
- Will the product pages include links to user guides and/or training videos?
