The Big Catch-up: Case study of immunization activities in Cameroon

This case study was conducted by Evidence for Sustainable Human Development Systems in Africa (EVIHDAF) to generate evidence and critically analyze the implementation of the Big Catch-Up (BCU) immunization strategy in Cameroon. The study utilized a comprehensive mixed-methods approach, grounded in established case study guidelines and the BCU theory of change. The core aims were to examine: a) how the national team planned, implemented, and monitored the catch-up campaign; b) the process of integrating the identification and catchup of zero-dose and under-immunized children into routine primary health care systems; and c) identifying the underlying reasons why specific populations remain unvaccinated.
