Booster immune response in children 6–7 years of age, randomly assigned to four groups with two MMR vaccines applied by aerosol or by injection

Highlights

•Both aerosolized vaccines, MMR-SII and MMR II yielded immune responses to the three viruses.

•Successful response to Attenuvax component, related to Schwarz measles strain.

•Difference among vaccines and administration routes (aerosol or injection) was not significant.

•First report in children of aerosolized Jeryl–Lynn, the safest of mumps strains.

•No serious adverse events were noted.
