Reaching Zero-Dose Children: Insights from Six Implementation Research Studies - Presentation slides

Institutionalizing learning by mainstreaming embedded implementation research in country immunization programmes (MAINSTREAM) is a multi-country project carrying out embedded IR to support local immunization programmes. MAINSTREAM’s overall goal is to contribute to improving vaccine coverage and equity through the building, strengthening and institutionalizing of learning approaches that leverage IR to inform programmatic and policy decisions.

MAINSTREAM is managed centrally by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR) in Geneva which provides direct technical support, with funding from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. It is being carried out in Cameroon, Ghana, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique and Pakistan through especially selected mentor institutes. In Madagascar, UNICEF also supported the work with both financial resources, technical expertise and implementation support.

Webinar objectives:

This webinar showcased learnings from local IR projects that were designed to meet local stakeholder priorities for reaching children who are Zero-Dose. The session covered strategies aimed at community engagement and adapting service delivery models to improve the reach of immunization services as well as reflections from immunization policymakers on the use of IR for strengthening services and contributing to ongoing learning cycles.
