This page compiles resources from 12 implementation research projects studying opportunities for HPV vaccine integration with other adolescent health services across Africa and Asia. There are also portfolio level products that synthesize findings and learnings across this breadth of studies.
Spanning 12 implementation research studies across 11 countries in Africa and Asia, and involving 6 implementing organizations in collaboration with host country governments and local partners, the portfolio systematically tested different ways to reach adolescents, through schools, health facilities, communities, and youth-friendly spaces, using a variety of existing delivery systems such as immunisation programs, HIV services, youth health services, school health curricula, and comprehensive sexuality education programming.
This repository, synthesized by Jhpiego, brings together the full suite of evidence as well as resources to help implementers and program planners design and scale integrated HPV service delivery in their own contexts.

As a growing number of countries introduce the HPV vaccine into their routine immunisation systems, they need service delivery strategies that sustainably reach adolescent girls (for example aged 9 to 14 years) where they are. Each country is at a different stage on an integration journey, where they consider how HPV vaccination services can be combined with additional services that are beneficial to their health and development.
From 2024-2026, this portfolio, commissioned by Gavi with funding from the Gates Foundation, sought to address three fundamental questions with the aim of strengthening collective learning and country capacity on vaccine integration approaches:
- Does integration improve HPV vaccine and/or adolescent health service uptake?
- If integration works, how, where and for whom?
- How feasible, acceptable, and sustainable is integration?
