POST 01018E : TECHNET21 SURVEY 30 November 2006 ____________________________________ The TechNet21 Secretariat is pleased to announce the launching of its 2006 survey. Secretariat would also be very interested in hearing opinions from non-members in order to offer them a more attractive network and forum so that they will decide to join. Main objective: To provide a forum for a facilitated exchange of knowledge and experience to strengthen immunization programmes and operations management. 2. Main audience: health staff working in developing countries, including those at sub-national and district levels, WHO and UNICEF country staff, traditional TechNet logistics members and immunization partners. 3. Started on 1 February 1998 as a communication initiative by the Technet Secretariat in WHO-HQ, the network has around 1000 subscribers (900 English list subscribers and 85 members to the French list). 4. Postings are normally sent once every two or three days. 40-45% of postings include technical information related to immunization: research studies published or unpublished, technical scientific documents, updates, policy documents, etc., and news/announcements. A similar proportion of postings is devoted to discussions on various topics, and the rest are job announcements and circulation of Global Immunization News. 5. Technet21 also maintains a website accessible at : http://www.technet21.org ______________________________________________________________________________ All members of the TechNet21 e-Forum are invited to send comments on any posting or to use the forum to raise a new discussion or request technical information in relation to immunization services.
