Dear Technet Members,

The USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project invites you to the second in a series of SCM Workforce Development webinars, ‘HR for SCM – Improving HR Performance through applying the PtD Theory of Change.'

Like all chains, supply chains are no stronger than their weakest link. In many low and middle-income countries, the supply chain workforce often do not have the technical and managerial skills to perform optimally, the empowerment to affect supply decisions, or the human resources policies needed for effective management. The People that Deliver (PtD) Theory of Change for SCM was developed to describe the pathways that must be present for optimal workforce performance and the interventions required to make this happen.

Thursday the 21st March, 8am to 9am EST.

At the conclusion of this session participants should be able to:

* Explain why there is a need to systematically improve HR capacity and systems to improve HR performance in supply chain teams
* Use the People that Deliver (PtD) Theory of Change for SCM https://peoplethatdeliver.org/ptd/resources/human-resources-supply-chain-management-theory-change (HR4SCM ToC) to understand the four essential pathways to optimize workforce performance in SCM and the actions required to strengthen these pathways
The webinar will be facilitated by Dr Andrew N Brown (GHSC-PSM) and Bridget J McHenry (USAID).

Andrew is the GHSC-PSM Workforce Development Specialist. He has more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical health systems with a specialized focus on human resources development in the health supply chain context of low and middle-income countries. He has extensive experience working with international and national stakeholders to strengthen human resource management systems to effectively develop, recruit, retain, and support the health workforce for increased access to quality health services. https://www.linkedin.com/in/anbrownhss/

Bridget is the Senior Organizational Development Advisor for Commodity Security & Logistics at USAID with USAID’s Global Health Bureau in the Office of Population and Reproductive Health. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from George Washington University and is an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional. In her current role as the Organizational Development Advisor, she is working on organizational development and capacity building issues related to HRH for SCM for health commodities. She is a technical advisor to the work of
GHSC-PSM and supports USAID's engagement in PtD and IAPHL.
