2024 Knight Media Forum Highlights Need to Fight Disinformation
This month, IVAC faculty presented findings from their research on leveraging social media influencers to combat vaccine disinformation at the 2024 Knight Media Forum, a leading conference for media and journalism. Dr. Rupali Limaye received a grant from the Knight Foundation as part of a call for projects combating the impacts of disinformation on communities of color in the United States. The team designed and tested an educational training resource with Latinx social media users and community leaders to provide evidence-based strategies to combat disinformation in Spanish-speaking communities. The resource can be accessed in English or Spanish here. |

This qualitative study interviewed 13 global stakeholders to understand factors affecting the introduction and scale-up of HPV vaccination programs in LMICs. The results of this investigation identified upstream and downstream determinants that impact program introduction and scale-up and confirmed that strong political commitment and governance are needed to garner support for HPV vaccines. |
