Mobile Network Operator Partnerships in Action for Health: A Vietnam case study on mobile network operator and Ministry of Health engagement for electronic immunization registry application
This case study documents the benefits and challenges in partnership identification, development and maintenance between Mobile Network Operator Viettel, the Ministry of Health and PATH in Vietnam. Take-away lessons in this case study are aimed to help other countries and organizations form realistic expectations when planning ahead, and identify and compare their own challenges and success with Vietnam’s perspective on key partnerships in EIR applications.

PATH's Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded Introducing Digital Immunization information systems: Exchange and Learning from Vietnam (IDEAL-Vietnam) project is very excited to announce the release of their second case study:
The Design, Development, and Deployment of an Electronic Immunization Registry in Vietnam: Reflections, guidance and global similarities
Designing, developing, and deploying an electronic immunization information system can help to increase vaccination coverage, reduce burden on health care workers, and improve health outcomes. The process of introducing an electronic immunization registry (EIR) depends on a country’s specific context (technology, government, population); however, there are also similar trends shared by implementers of EIRs worldwide. This case study presents the Vietnam experience during the design, development and deployment of an EIR project along with key findings from guidance documents worldwide. The hope is that lessons learned...

VIETNAM’S SCALE-UP FROM A DISTRICT-LEVEL PILOT
TO A NATIONAL-SCALE ELECTRONIC IMMUNIZATION REGISTRY (EIR)This case study deep dives into lessons learned from Vietnam of a successful scale-up of an electronic immunization registry (EIR) from pilot to nationwide application. Successful scale-up is not an easy feat, and the process of moving from small- to large-scale operations in Vietnam was due in part to from-the-start planning, key partnerships, government commitment, and sustained collaboration. The webinar will highlight key facilitators and barriers, and focus on important partnerships that catalyzed the success of the scale-up process.
